In august 2022, my team turned in our application to be shortlisted for the 2022 Nigerian Law Students’ South-South Zonal Moot Court Competitions. Sceptical about being good enough to be selected, because it basically was our first, we still kept our fingers crossed, hoping for the best.
To our greatest surprise, we received an email notifying us of our acceptance, alongside three (3) other teams. Excitedly and gratefully, we hopped on the bus off to Delta State.
The competition took place in the in the Asaba Division of the Appeal Court. We soon had the opportunity of exhibiting our legal prowess we had horned overtime, right there before a crowd of all South-South Law Students. We also got thrilled watching the other teams showcase their skills.
We gave it a good shot, and came 2nd place, with hopes of doing better the next time.
